About The Artist
Jay Sidebotham comes from a long line of folks who view life through cartoons. His father and grandfather both worked in advertising and illustration in New York, original madmen. He himself did that kind of work in Manhattan, including several years drawing for Schoolhouse Rock. Drawing has always been a part of his life, even when he made a slight career shift to seminary study and ordained ministry in the Episcopal Church.
Over the last 30 years, he has served churches in Rhode Island, D.C., North Carolina, Illinois, and New York, and he recently began a ministry called RenewalWorks. He is married to Frances Murchison and they now live in Wilmington, North Carolina. They have two adult children, John Reid and Helen, whom each have wonderful spouses. Jay and Frances are proud grandparents of a stellar young man named Reid. Jay likes to draw. It brings him joy and he hopes to share that joy through this website. He also uses the art to share the life of the Spirit, quoting his hero, Charles Schulz, who said that cartooning is preaching.
